What you’ll find to simmer

PODCAST

Two women engaged in a conversation during a podcast or interview, seated at a white table with a microphone, in a room decorated with a large potted plant and pillows on a couch.

Are You Still Human?

Leadership conversations with people building full lives without losing themselves. Plus solo episodes on the lessons hiding in books and movies.

REFLECTIONS

the cool down

Leadership lessons from unexpected places. Books, movies, and the occasional detour into yoga, martial arts or a canvas.

The Philosophy

Not too hot. Not too cold. Just right, simmering.

If all you do is work, read leadership books, and listen to leadership podcasts, your perspective gets narrow fast.

I believe some of the best lessons can show up in a novel I wasn't expecting much from. A film I watched for fun. A conversation that stuck with me longer than it should have.

Leadership is hiding in every part of life. You just can't see it when you're running at full speed.

That's the whole idea behind simmering. Not go go go. Not a full stop either. Just enough space for your brain to breathe, so you can actually notice what's around you.

This is a place to slow down without checking out. To rest while still growing.

Not therapy. Not a productivity hack. Just good stories, honest reflection, and permission to find leadership lessons anywhere you happen to be looking.

For professionals, creatives, and anyone navigating the beautiful chaos of a full life.

You Might Be One of Us If...

  • Two women sitting at a table in a cozy cafe, smiling and looking at a laptop, with a Starbucks coffee cup on the table, through a window showing tall buildings outside.

    The Driven Professional

You're passionate about your work and proud of what you've built. But somewhere along the way, work became the only place you looked for answers.

  • A woman sitting on a wooden floor, painting blue wave designs on a canvas. Art supplies, including blue paint, brushes, and a palette, are scattered around her. There are also finished paintings of blue waves nearby.

    The Curious Creative

You find wisdom in unexpected places. A novel. A film. A hobby that has nothing to do with your job. You know the lessons are everywhere. You just need space to actually notice them.

  • A man with a beard in casual clothing, wearing a beige cap and a plaid shirt, sitting at a wooden table in a cafe, looking at a laptop, holding a cup of coffee.

    The Intentional Human

You're not looking for another leadership book. You're looking for a space to slow down, take in a good story, and let the lessons find you.

Founder, The Simmer Project

I built The Simmer Project because I needed it.

Thirteen years in corporate, and counting. Some of my best lessons on leadership have come from places I wasn't expecting: a novel, a film, a conversation that stuck with me longer than it should have.

I'm a senior marketing strategist by profession, and the rest of my life, the books, the movies, the things I do that have nothing to do with work, keeps teaching me how to do that job better.

This is the space I built to keep noticing. You're welcome here too.
